MACHINERY FOR INDUSTRY 4.0
Coherent product design is playing an increasingly important role in the classic capital goods segment too, for instance in the development of industrial production equipment. When designing machinery, it goes without saying that, besides considering aspects like ergonomics, usability and safety, we also think about how it can be produced in the anticipated quantities and with the possibilities available to our clients. We are also very mindful of the operator who, in addition to expecting utmost precision and efficiency, needs his equipment to be durable and maintenance-friendly as well.
All this will become more important than ever before as Industry 4.0 takes hold and production halls are transformed into clean showrooms.
EMOTIONAL, ERGONOMIC, UNIQUE
In everything we do, we aim to ensure a good brand fit, recognition and an independent design language. We take the same approach when designing production machinery, as this study for a CNC machining centre demonstrates.
The various elements of the design – first and foremost the enclosure – set themselves apart from their competitors and raise the benchmark. With its closed front, the machine makes a compact and distinctive impression, while a large inspection window allows the operator to monitor what’s happening inside. Besides translating the technical nature of the machine into its appearance, the design has emotional appeal as well – and ultimately motivates the person operating the machine, who benefits from its optimised ergonomics, improved safety and better usability.
